Understanding PPO and HMO dental plans
PPO Dental Plans. PPO plans are among the most popular choices. With a PPO, you can choose from a network of participating dentists who offer reduced fees. These plans typically include an annual maximum benefit, generally ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.
HMO Dental Plans. With an HMO plan, you choose a primary care dentist from a specific network to oversee your care. HMO plans often have lower monthly premiums and fixed copayments, but coverage is limited to in-network providers.
